2014 Awards

American Scholastic Press Association has awarded Progenitor with its highest ranking, First Place with Special Merit, and its cover photo by ACC student Douglas Hutaff with Outstanding  Photograph.

Progenitor also received 2nd place in the small college division, for the Southwestern Division of the Community College Humanities Association’s 2014 Literary Magazine Competition.  Progenitor's cover art, by ACC student Douglas Hutoff, The Master’s Hand, was awarded an honorable mention for the Southwestern Division as well.

 

2013 Awards

Progenitor has received a First Place with Special Merit award in the American Scholastic Press Association's 2013 magazine competition. ACC student, Joyce McClain, has received Best Photograph for "Belize," published in our 2013 Progenitor. Congratulations, Joyce.

 

The American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA) Magazine Judge for the 2013 annual magazine competition: "Progenitor is an amazing publication! You have mastered not only the elements of a good publication (staffbox, table of contents, etc.) but you have also published excellent work from your school population. Progenitor is a model for those up-and-coming magazines and inspiration for those magazines that haven't quite aced the necessary skills."

 

2012 Awards

The Community College Humanities Association awarded Progenitor 2012 second place for its Annual Literary Magazine Competition in the Southwestern division.

2012 Magazine Pacemaker Finalist Award November 3rd 2012. In recognition of general excellence and outstanding achievement by a college magazine in a National Competition.​
