Progenitor Submission Guidelines

Progenitor Art & Literary Journal accepts submissions from published and unpublished writers, students and the writing community. Submissions for Progenitor Art & Literary Journal are chosen by the Progenitor staff in a blind process. Progenitor only accepts submissions through Submittable.

 

Prose Guidelines: You may submit original, unpublished work only in poetry, ction, non ction, graphic novel excerpts and screenplay excerpts. Do not put your name on the manuscript itself or in the le name for the manuscript. Use title of piece for file name.

 

Poetry: you may submit once and upload up to three poem files per submission. Your name must not appear on the manuscript nor in the le name for the manuscript. Text Requirements: 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, single space for poetry. Please include title on all poems submitted.

 

Fiction and Nonfiction: you may submit once and upload up to two non ction les per submission. Each prose work should not exceed 2500 words. Your name must not appear on the manuscript nor in the le name for the manuscript. Text Requirements: 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, double-space for prose. Please include titles on the manuscripts.

 

Art and Photography: You may submit once and upload up to three files per submission. Your name must not appear on the work or on the file names.

 

Visual Art Requirements: 8 megapixels or higher for art work or photography. If work is selected, you may be asked to provide a new file with the appropriate production values.

 

ACC Writers Studio Literary Contest

Poetry, Fiction, and Nonfiction yearly contest run by Arapahoe Community College’s Writers Studio. Open to Colorado residents, including ACC students and employees. All entries must be original and unpublished. All submissions will be done electronically through the Writers Studio submission page at Submittable. A $12 entry fee is required for each submission. $8 for registered ACC students. First place winners in each category receive $250, invitation to read their winning piece at the Writers Studio Literary Festival, publication in Progenitor Art & Literary Journal, and automatic nomination for a Pushcart Prize. 2nd place in each category attends the Writers Studio Literary Festival as our guest.
